Texas Community College Consortium
Established in 2014, the Texas Community College Consortium (TC3) is an alliance of small- to medium-sized Texas community colleges whose goal is to achieve cost savings through shared services and improve operations through collaboration. The concept of “shared services” in HB 8 is tied to improving operational efficiency and capacity, which aligns with the broader goal of optimizing resources to support students.
RESPONDING TO HOUSE BILL 8: SHARED SERVICES
LEVERAGING POWER
TC3 has negotiated multiple contracts obtaining terms that would have been impossible if acting as individual colleges. Contracts include systems for ERP, learning management, payment processing, data analysis, and document management benefiting 45,000 students.
SHARED PERSONNEL
The consortium allows for all members to have access to the executive director responsible for the selection and implementation of the shared tools, as well as, two expert database programmers. This level of support would otherwise not be attainable for every institution.
PEER NETWORK
Each institution is supported with bi-monthly ERP-related meetings and a dedicated web portal for the TC3 consortium on Jenzabar’s support site.
